President’s Message-January 2026

On Sunday, Jan. 11, we held the annual in-person meeting to go over our year in review and to confer the election results for offices of President, Treasurer and Operations Director.

First let me say thank you to all who took the time to vote and more so for those who placed their confidence in Sarah, Nancy and me to continue in our roles within this organization. I couldn’t be more proud to be part of this organization.

If you weren’t able to attend the meeting, we have posted the year in review and the memorial presentation on the website, and I encourage you to take a look at it.

SA Greys did some amazing work last year, reduced spending, placed 30 dogs with only one rebound and had greyt meetups. We hope to continue those efforts in 2026.

I am proposing we bring on additional Board member-at-large positions to ensure we continue with our transparency, receive additional input and to always have a quorum. Being on the Board is a smaller commitment than being on the Operations or Communications teams. If you have any desire, please let me know.

As the new year starts we are already in the process of receiving new greyhounds. Nancy and I were in Las Vegas on Saturday, Jan. 17, to receive an 8-year-old brood mom that is making her forever home in Henderson, Nev., and then on Friday, Jan. 30, we drive to LA for five Aussie hounds.

I hope this new year brings us the ability to continue to find new homes for the hounds. Thank you for a wonderful 2025!
