Want to make a difference in the lives of retired greyhounds?

Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption needs people who want to further the transformation of retired race dogs into couch potatoes. The more solid core of volunteers we have, the more greyhounds we can help.

Here are some ways for how you can be a part of a dedicated group of people who strive to create happy endings:

Transport – Drivers are needed on a sporadic basis to take a hound one-way from Sahuarita to our vet on Tanque Verde Road (NE Tucson). Hey, there’s a gelato store around the corner; treat yourself.

Tech – Make reels and videos for social media; data processing

Research – Research suitable grant opportunities and put proverbial pen to paper.

OutreachIdentify businesses and organizations where SA Greys can reach out to for exposure, “Lunch & Learn” events, public outings, festivals. Got contacts?

Organizers — Do you shine at event planning? Do you enjoy being a vital member of a team? Leaders and followers wanted.

Share – Share our posts on social media; ask your friends to buy Jim Click raffle tickets from us.

Are you ready to help the greyhounds?

We also appreciate your ideas and contacts. Volunteers age 12 and older are welcome.

Please complete a volunteer application or foster application and we will do our best to contact you within 2 to 3 days. (We are all volunteers!)

Foster Care

Foster care – Greyhounds fresh off the track have no house experience; they never saw a TV, tile, stairs, kids, or other pets. Are you ready to watch a greyhound blossom from your one-to-one TLC and ready him or her for a forever home? Greyhounds are generally quick learners. See our fostering guide for details.

Respite foster care – Provide backup when a regular foster care person goes on vacation or away for the weekend.

Not sure where you fit in?

At times we request random opportunities to volunteer at events, bring dogs to “Lunch & Learn,” sometimes we only need a few extra hands. Meet other volunteers. Make greyt friends. It’s all good.
