President’s Message – February 2026

One thing I have learned since I started as a volunteer with SA Greys, and frankly, with several things throughout my life, is that relationships are vital to so many things. We have been so fortunate to have built some very good and long lasting relationships with volunteers, donors, fosters, Lazy Grey Ranch, to name a few and with other groups.

For several years, we have worked with GreySave in California when the track was still open in Tiijuana, Mexico (Caliente), and we are now working with them again, along with FastFriends and Dr. Heather Weir to bring in dogs off the West Virginia track.

Dr. Weir is a veterinarian who does so much for the dogs she cares for. She boards them, does all of their medical work and even does transport from Colorado to Los Angeles with a stop in Las Vegas for us.

So far, we have brought in five of these retired racers, including one brood mom that stayed in Las Vegas and we are in the planning stages for bringing in three more on Saturday, Feb. 21.

I am so grateful for the relationships we have built throughout the years, which allows us to continue to give these hounds the lives they deserve, and that again includes all of you. Thank you!
