Operation News – January 2026

Lately, I’ve been sharing educational information designed to help you better understand your hound and the unique health concerns that can come with loving a greyhound. This month, I’m taking a little detour from that theme to talk about something equally important to our mission — the Greyt Winter Festival — and why it truly matters.

At its core, the Greyt Winter Festival exists for one very important reason: Jackie’s Fund.

Since 2013, Jackie’s Fund has provided critical medical support for greyhounds in our care who face extraordinary injuries or illnesses. These are the hounds who need more than routine veterinary care — specialized diagnostics, surgery, rehabilitation or long-term treatment. Jackie’s Fund allows Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption to say yes when the need is greatest, ensuring these vulnerable hounds receive the care they deserve.

The Greyt Winter Festival is one of the most important ways we sustain Jackie’s Fund — so that when the next hound needs help, we’re ready.

And now, let’s talk about the fun waiting for you at the festival.

Saddle up for a greyt afternoon of fun and fundraising at the Greyt Winter Festival — Greyhound Rodeo, benefiting Jackie’s Fund — our ongoing campaign that provides lifesaving medical care for greyhounds who have suffered extraordinary injuries or illnesses.

Your ticket includes appetizers and beverages for the humans — and for the hounds, we’ll be serving everyone’s favorite treat: houndie ice cream.

Western attire is encouraged (but not required!), so dust off your boots and hats if you’re feeling festive.

Festival Highlights Include:

  • Silent Auction — Bid on fantastic items while supporting a great cause. Silent auction sneak peek: look to the skies — an up, up and away in my beautiful balloon experience may be waiting in our silent auction.
  • Caricatures — Take home a one-of-a-kind keepsake of you and your hound.
  • Photo Booth — Capture your rodeo memories in true western style.
  • 50/50 Cash Raffle — with a rodeo twist you won’t want to miss.
  • Greyhound Fashion Walk — Our soon-to-be-famous runway for the most stylish hounds in the desert
  • And more surprises throughout the afternoon!

Grab your boots, bring your friends and family, and don’t forget your greyhounds — it’s going to be a greyt day you won’t want to miss! Reserve your tickets today and help us make a difference for greyhounds in need.

Always moving forward,
