Message From Our President – November 2024

If you have been with SA Greys this past year, you know that we embrace engagement with our adopters and supporters.
This year we held three in-person Board meetings. We’ve had greyhound meetups in locally-owned brew pubs, at a canine ice cream parlor, and a dog-friendly wine tasting event, and of course, the October BooRooUnion. Your positive feedback regarding these events encourages us to keep the momentum going. If you have any suggestions for future dog-friendly venues or activities and/or would like to co-host, please email communications@sagreys.org.
Little did you know how a greyhound would enhance your social life!
People who have been members through the years may remember the Greyt Winter Festival. This classic/classy event will happen early 2025 and we welcome more participation in the planning stages as right now this responsibility leans heavily on a few. While we have some greyhound-oriented silent auction items and dazzling jewelry, we need more general items such as gift cards, desirable experiences like tours, entertainment, lodging, lessons, sporting events, spa days, etc. We are looking for a few motivated people who have contacts and/or can assist us in acquiring more donated items by making requests. Please reach out to nancy@sagreys.org to get involved.
At the July in-person Board meeting, when we did a call to the audience, one of our adopters shared that he works at Raytheon and wondered if we could make a flier for greyhound adoption and he could circulate it there. The communications and marketing committees put their collective heads together to create this flier. We thank the brothers Nate and Nick for their enthusiasm and will be looking for additional ways to share the flier, too.
As always, thank you for reading the newsletter. I appreciate your support.
