Message from our President

I don’t know about all greyhounds, but I do know a lot of them like to get together and catch up with each other. Now, while their methods might be a little different than their humans, the point of getting together from time to time is essentially the same.

Over the past year, we had the greyt fortune to have been invited to a few different locations to spread some cheer and greyhound knowledge. Places such as Harbottle Brewing Company, Sand-Reckoner Tasting Room (which is now closed) and Bark ‘N Berry (fka Cones for Bones) and there are a few more possible locations on the horizon, including newly opened Vertigo Wines.

What is so special about these places is they have reached out and asked SA Greys to come and to bring the hounds, which often gives us a chance to show off our fur babies but also gives others a greyhound fix. Often we even go home with a few donations, sold raffle tickets or potential new adopters. Two non-profit organizations, Beading Divas Bracelets and the Greyhound Guild also supported us. All in all, it’s a wonderful experience.

Many who support us don’t have brick and mortar venues we can visit, we also have sponsors who help with some of our larger events like the BooRooUnion that we would like to acknowledge: Greyt Escape has been in SA Greys’ corner for more than a decade and still provides all new collars and leashes for incoming hounds. Other instrumental businesses such as Greytreasures, Give a SH*T Coffee, Dogs-n-Donuts, Briarcrest Veterinary Care Center, Animal Soul Connection, Savvy Canines and Javelina Wholesalers as well as several of our adopters, members and followers who donated items for the hounds, raffle/silent auction items and expenses.

Let’s not forget an instructor at Pima Medical Institute who volunteers to cut nails every year at the BooRooUnion. To say it takes a village is so very true and we are deeply grateful for all who support SA Greys and our mission, and we in turn love supporting them.
