Greyt Eight Australians to Tucson

It took an international village to bring the Greyt Eight greyhounds from Australia to Tucson. There are many people to thank for making the journey and mission to rehome Aussie greyhounds in the United States. Thank you all for supporting our mission and making the premier transport possible.

Thank you to the staff members of New South Wales for the attention given to the greyhounds in their care. You had the most difficult job — which was to say goodbye to the beautiful dogs.

Thank you to Derarca and Racing2Rehome for shepherding NSW through the paperwork and processes to make the transport possible. R2R has seamlessly flown more than 25 flights of greyhounds to the U.S. Thanks to both of the Australian groups for working together to make the trip a reality.

Thank you to George Knott, who runs Galgopod Group, and coordinated Team LAX volunteers: Paula Sahr Otteson, Sabra Pietromartie, Amber Rielly and JaVae Ferrier. And to our Los Angeles friends and family: Nancy Springer, David Schaefer, Elizabeth Pollock and Brian C. Janes, the photographer. You all rocked it!

A heartfelt thanks to SA Greys volunteers who made the trek to and from Tucson to Los Angeles: Joan and Paul Athey, Phyllis Schaefer, Abrie Schroeder, Jeff Schlieper, Jeanne Gacke, Anne Lopez and Debra and Brian Hardman.

Many thanks to the friends, family and dog sitters who covered things at home while the volunteers traveled from Tucson to Los Angeles. Without your help, many of them may not have been able to make the trip.

From the Transport, Foster and Communications teams AND all who have shared in the excitement, our hearts are filled with gratitude.

Please consider making a donation or an ongoing monthly donation so we can continue bringing in retired racing greyhounds from other continents. They so deserve the pet life.
