President’s Message – November 2025
What an event the BooRooUnion was! It is hard to believe every year it gets better, but in my opinion, it truly does. A big thank you to the planning committee, the volunteers and vendors who came out to support us.
I estimated about 80 people and 40+ greyhounds, but whatever the actual numbers were, it is amazing you all give time, talents and treasures to make this event special.
This year, we had several adopters and their hounds from Phoenix, Maricopa and El Paso, Texas! Yes, Teresa and her dad, Richard, along with greyhound Freya made the trip and even saw their former foster family. Many previous, current and some future adopters came to say hello, march in the parade, try to win raffle prizes or get their greyhound fix.
We are already planning a few changes for next year such as adding more categories for new prizes, publishing times and locations of the various contests and for Nancy and me to be out mingling in the crowd as we did not get a chance to see everyone who came.
As we come upon the holiday season and SA Greys Board elections, I am reflecting on the past two years and the role of serving as President. I am beyond grateful for the trust you have placed in me and all of the Board members and for how you support this group. Thank you for allowing us to carry the torch and keep the flame burning.
