Message from the President – October 2024

October is Membership Month

What’s in a membership? One of the things SA Greys does this time of year is start renewing memberships. Generally beginning at the BooRoounion. But what’s in a membership for SA Greys and why is it important?

Let’s begin by saying, it’s not just important, it is vital. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, we get our funding through membership dues, raffle events, fundraisers and donations, but you probably already know that. But what a membership does is it gives you a voice into how we operate as an organization. Our Board is responsible not just to our hounds, adopters and volunteers, but also to our members to be transparent on how we operate. Current paid membership enables you to run for office, grants voting rights for Board elections and to approve the bylaws. Membership dues also provides SA Greys with continued donations to help with our operating expenses.

We are greytful for your continued support and are always looking for other ways to show our gratitude.

Membership Perks

This year as we kick off Membership Month if you join or renew your annual membership* via online during October or at the BooRooUnion, you will receive three entries with a chance to win a Jim Click Raffle ticket ($25 value). The drawing will be at the Sunday, Nov. 10, in-person Board meeting (winner need not be present). See events below for more information on the board meeting. Plus with a paid membership you can receive a free sitting with your hounds and Santa at the Nov. 10 meeting; non-members pay $15 for Santa photos. Members also receive a discount on the upcoming Greyt Winter Festival held in early 2025.

Membership is a great way to contribute to our organization and show your support for all the hounds we love, ones we now know and ones we have yet to meet. Our goal is to have at least 100+ members!
