Message from our President – January 2023
Happy New Year!
The past year was fantastic for SA Greys. From bringing in Irish greyhounds, to welcoming hounds from Tijuana, Mexico and helping a few greyhounds find new homes, the team kept very busy. Besides rehoming greyhounds, we also found time to raise money and promote greyhound awareness. We had a number of hounds who required greater than normal vet expenses, a few of those were in bad shape with broken hocks. Through it all, we enjoyed the reward of placing each greyhound in their forever home. None of which would have been possible without your help and support.
Did you know we had almost 90 people volunteer their time in 2022? There are a lot of moving parts to the work we do. Please join us for the Annual Meeting to learn what we achieved in 2022 and what’s in store for 2023. There will be a presentation explaining the activities it takes to bring greyhounds in from overseas, from the time the import paperwork begins until the greyhounds find their forever homes. More information on the meeting below.
With the new year, we’ve transitioned to several new applications to manage our work. You will notice changes in our website appearance and how fundraising and donation processing is handled. We are pretty excited with the new tools and ease of use, yet with change, there may be some kinks we need to work through. We appreciate your patience while we adapt and do not hesitate to raise any issues you may have by sending a message to communications@sagreys.org.
Cheers to a new year and I look forward to seeing you at the Annual Meeting on Jan. 15.
