Hi… I’m Blue 💙
Hi! I’m a very special boy looking for a forever family who can appreciate all the wonderful things about me—and maybe laugh at a few of my quirks along the way.
First things first: I’m only 2 years old! So yes, I’ve got energy, enthusiasm, and occasionally more legs than common sense. I LOVE my zoomies, especially after it rains. Wet ground apparently activates my turbo button. Inside the house, however, I sometimes forget that tile floors are slippery. My foster mom says there aren’t enough runner rugs—or enough bubble wrap—to protect me from myself. I prefer to think of it as living life enthusiastically.
I get along great with other breeds, I’m not destructive, I don’t have accidents in the house, I LOVE my food, and I’m a very affectionate guy. For a 2-year-old, I already have a pretty impressive résumé.
Now, about my hearing. It works perfectly. I’ve just mastered the ancient greyhound art of selective listening. You can call my name, repeat yourself, clap your hands, and begin questioning whether you actually spoke out loud. I heard you. I’m just considering whether your request requires my immediate attention.
I’m also a bit of an airhead—in the most lovable way. But remember, I’m only 2. I’m still figuring out this whole “being a grown-up dog” thing. Sometimes I’ll shower one person with attention while completely overlooking the person standing right beside them. Please don’t take it personally. My brain occasionally has only one window open at a time.
And yes, I sometimes bounce like a kangaroo. Apparently, this is something we’re “working on.” I call it expressing my youthful enthusiasm.
What I really need is someone who understands that at just 2 years old, I’m still learning. Someone who will see all the good stuff first: my affection, my happy personality, my good house manners, my ability to get along with others, and my enthusiasm for life. With a little patience, consistency, and guidance, the selective hearing and kangaroo impersonations will get better.
If you’re looking for perfect, I might not be your guy.
But if you’re looking for a young, loving, goofy, entertaining, affectionate boy with a whole lot of potential—I think we should meet.
