This month, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Greyt Escape Collars & Accessories, a long-time friend and supporter of the greyhound community — and a name many of us know and love!
Michelle, the creative heart behind Greyt Escape, began designing her beautiful line of collars and accessories back in 2007. At the time, she was also running “Greyt Escape, your greyhound’s vacation destination” — an in-home boarding service for rescue greyhounds. For more than 14 years, the boarding and collar business ran hand in hand, giving countless hounds comfort, care and style.
Even after the boarding side closed, the collar line has continued to grow strong for more than 18 years. Every purchase from Greyt Escape helps give back, with a donation made to Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption for each sale.
Michelle’s journey with greyhound rescue began more than 23 years ago, after adopting her first greyhound, Riley. Since then, she and her family have welcomed four retired racers into their home and hearts. Her volunteer efforts span nearly every corner of rescue life — from kennel turnouts and vet transports to emergency wildfire evacuations, fostering and providing new hounds with their very first collar and leash. She was also one of the founding Board members of Beading Divas to the Rescue.
Each Greyt Escape item is lovingly hand-sewn by Michelle herself. She carefully selects every pattern, fabric and trim, ensuring durability, functionality and fashion in every piece. Though greyhounds inspire her designs, they’re perfect for any breed ready to step out in style!
Michelle also brings her creativity to CB+CO Studio, a sister shop offering whimsical, handmade lifestyle pieces for the human side of the leash — with proceeds that also benefit greyhound rescue.
